Suffolk - Dorothy Vann Rawls, 79, of Suffolk, Va., passed away December 17, 2011. She was born in Gates, N.C. the daughter of the late Edith Bundy Vann and Will Vann. She is also predeceased by her husband Clyde W. Rawls. Dorothy was a member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church and the Eleanor Russell Sunday School Class.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Dave Merinar; sons and daughters-in-law, Wilson Rawls, David and Kathy Rawls, Steve Rawls, Reggie and Lisa Rawls; 12 grandchildren;12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Cypress Chapel Christian Church, 1891 Cypress Chapel Rd. Suffolk, VA 23434 with Pastor Chris Surber officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr. Suffolk, Va. 23434, and other times at the home of David and Kathy Rawls. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cypress Chapel Christian Church Building Fund.
