Enlisted on December 18, 1862, at Washington, for 3 years, age 21.
Mustered in on January 20, 1863; discharged at Detroit, Michigan, October 2, 1865.
Pension: No pension record found for this veteran.
Researchers Note: The 1850 Federal Census lists the age of this veteran at that time as 6 years old. This would indicate a birth in the year of 1844. This conflicts with the age given at enlistment. The date of birth is an open issue and beyond the scope of this study.

“Samuel Campbell, of Mt. Clemens, about 30 years old, was found dead Sunday morning in an out-house with his neck broken. He has been for many years subject to nervous fits, and it is supposed that, while having one of those attacks, he fell in such a way as to break his neck.”
