Al was the son of Archie Hanson (1899-1994) and Liva Halvorson (1898-1962). He entered the US Army in 1951 and served in the 82nd Airborne stationed in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He married Virginia Berg on December 8, 1951.
Al and Virginia had three sons- Dan, Allan, and Bruce.
In 1956, Al went to work for Tri-State Breeders Co-op(later known as Accelerated Genetics) as an AI technician in the Granton area. Later, he worked as a District Manager and eventually as a trainer across the US, Mexico, and South America.
He had many friends around the world, and was a favorite of his co-workers. His friendly personality and winning smile will always be remembered by all.
