ALTHA J. BODKIN (76) of Dunbar, died Wednesday, August 31, 1994 at home. He was born March 28, 1918, in Thompson No. 2, son of the late Joel Stoneroad and Irene Brewer Bodkin.

He was a retired ladle operator with the Pennsylvania Wire Glass Company; a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy; a member of Franklin Memorial United Methodist Church, Dunbar, and was Sunday School teacher in the church for many years; a member of the America Legion Milton Bishop Post 301 of Connellsville; Past Commander of the American Legion Hughes Post of Dunbar; a member of the 40 & 8; the Fairview Club; the JOUA No. 207; the Polish Club of Connellsville; the Fraternal Order of Eagles Dunbar Township, and Aerie 3293.

Surviving are his wife, Nellie Bodkin of Dunbar; one son, Altha "Bud" Bodkin of Berryville, VA; one daughter, Mrs. James (Juanita) Cochick of Moon Township; one brother, Walter Bodkin of Connellsville; one grandson, Stephen Bodkin; four granddaughters; Christine Bodkin, Carol Booth, Jamie Zubreski and Linda Howard; four great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Vernon, Charles and Lloyd and one sister, Pansy Bodkin.

Friends will be received at the Burhans-Crouse Funeral Home in Dunbar. Interment in Franklin Cemetery, Dunbar.
