Jannie was an intelligent young woman who studied to be a book-keeper and also had a talent for shorthand, sewing and talking with her sisters, gezellig was her middle name. Her father made sure all his children, including the girls, could go to school. Later she was a loving mother and wife, had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh, company and all her family. She suffered of bad arthritis which kept her from doing more things in her always active and busy life. She stood by her husband even though he was absent due to work a lot especially in WWII. She died way too young and left young children behind who were placed in several families in the world. She is still missed by many!
