KAREN ANN PEEBLES, age 61, of Sugar Land, TX, passed away unexpectedly on September 29, 2008. She was born on July 28, 1947 in Greensburg, PA to Bernard and Carolyn Getto. Karen graduated from Westbury High School in 1965; she received her BA in Liberal Arts from Rice University in 1969 and an MBA from the University of Houston. Karen was a long time Contract Administrator for Houston Lighting and Power Company and Chevron Production Company. Karen enjoyed sewing and knitting and was a member of the American Sewing Guild, along with several knitting clubs. Karen was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bernard A. Getto and James H. Getto; and a nephew, Douglas A. Bexley. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, William (Bill) Peebles; her sisters, Susan G. Drury and husband John of Tyler, TX and Eve C. Getto of La Marque, TX; and other relatives and friends. Karen was the beloved aunt of Bernie and Chris Garcia. A Celebration of Karen's Life will be held at 3 PM on Friday, October 3, 2008 in the Morrow Chapel of The Settegast-Kopf Co. At Sugar Creek, with Rev. M. Eugene Vickrey, officiating.
