Funeral services for Charles Anderka were held at the St. Luke's Evangelical and Reformed Church on Monday, Aug. 10, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Kenneth Worthman, pastor of the church officiating. A family service was held at the Parker Funeral Home on Monday at 1:30 p.m. Ervin Boelke sang "Face To Face With Jesus" and "Beyond The Sunset" accompanied by Mrs. Gene Severson. Pallbearers were nephews and included: Edward Homan of Owatonna, Alvin Mentz of Minneapolis, Chris Koelle, Arthur Anderka, William Koopman, and Wilbert Smith, all of Faribault. Interment was made in the family lot in the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault. Relatives and friends attended the services from MInneapolis, Owatonna, Dawson, Albert Lea, Waseca, St. Paul, Nerstrand, Morristown, and Kenyon. Charles Anderka, the son of Christian and Sophie Hecht Anderka was born at his parents farm home in Richland Township, Rice county, on Aug. 16, 1879. He attended the rural public and parochial schools in that vicinity and grew to young manhood there. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Church in Wheeling Township. On April 3, 1902, he was united in marriage to Miss Caroline Kuhlman at St. John's Church in Wheeling. They farmed in Richland Township for about five years, following which, they came to Faribault, where Mr. Anderka began his employment at the H. H. King Milling Company. He worked at the Milling Company for a period of 37 years, retiring from there in 1946. Since then, he has continued to make his home in Faribault. Mr. Anderka passed away in Rochester on Friday evening, Aug. 7, following an extended illness. He is survived by his wife, Caroline; by two sons, Milton and Alfred, both of Faribault; by two grandchildren; by three sisters, Mrs. William Fihn (Louise), Mrs. Henry Mentz (Mary) and Mrs. Henry Frank (Anna) all of Faribault; by one brother, Christ Anderka of Faribault; by a number of nieces, nephews, and by other relatives. Mr. Anderka was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Fred; by two sisters, Mrs. Mathilda Koelle and Mrs. Caroline Koelle; and by one grandson, Lowell Charles Anderka, who passed away at the age of four.
