Nell Wherry Burchard age 92 of Madison, passed away December 30, 2010. Preceded in death by her parents Erb C. and Lillian McClanahan Wherry, husband James Douglas Burchard, son-in-law Marvin E. Carter, Sr., brothers and sisters Webb, Delmas, Hugh Mac, Georgia Ruth, Helen, Bettye June, and Margaret Ann. Survived by her daughter Mary Ann Carter; grandchildren Sheryl Gentry (Wayne), Sylvia Broadrick (Jackie), Alisa Cardin, and Marvin Carter, Jr. (Nicki); great grandchildren Jonah Gentry (Tara), Joshua Gentry (Brittany), Jason Broadrick, Jordan Broadrick, Nicholas Kincaide (Blake) U.S. Army, Caitlin Cardin, Kelsey Carter, Austin Carter, Olivia Carter, Caleb Bush, and Cameron Bush; great-great grandchildren Gracie, Emma, Abel, Ava, and Chad Gentry, Madeline and Danger Kincaide. Mrs. Burchard had worked for the Washington Manufacturing Company for many years and was a member of the Church of Christ. Her first love was her family and the second would be the Atlanta Braves. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 3, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home with interment to follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. and Monday 10:00-11:00 a.m. at SPRING HILL FUNERAL HOME AND CEMETERY, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216, 615-865-1101.
