A farmer who owned land within the city, including Redstone Creek, extending eastward including all of Lincoln, Maple and Walnut Streets and the southern part of North Gallatin Avenue.

He was a soldier in the War of 1812, an orderly sergeant of the company in which he served and the adjutant of the regiment.

He married Mary Black and their children were: Evalina W Gallagher, James M Gallagher, Jane K Gallagher, Elizabeth D Gallagher, Jacob B Gallagher, Mary L Gallagher, and John
Gallagher, all reside in Pennsylvania.
