Bro. Campbell accepted Christ as his personal savior and joined Everdale Missionary Baptist Church in Water Valley, MS under the leadership of Pastor Purnell. He remained a faithful member until failing health caused him to be confined to his home.
Bro. Campbell graduated from Water Valley Elementary Special Needs School. While attending school he participated in the Special Olympics and enjoyed running track.
Burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Water Valley, MS with Anthony Hervey, Samuel Hervey, Barry Hervey, and Bryan Gilliom serving as pallbearers.
Although he is resting with God, he leaves to mourn and cherish his memories: a devoted grandmother, Maggie Lee "Polly" Campbell of Water Valley, MS; his parents, Harry and Katherine Campbell Hervey of Oxford, MS; two sisters, Paulie Ann Gilliom (Bryan) of Oxford, MS and Yolanda Cobbs (Cedric) of Pontotoc, MS; five brothers, Anthony Hervey (Paula) of Oxford, MS, Samuel and Barry Hervey of Chicago, IL and Jack and Harry Hervey of Monroe, LA; a special friend and caregiver, Russell Kuykendall; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Linda Carol Campbell, Rebecca Jean Hervey and Queen Esther Hervey; and one brother, Tyrone Hervey.
