Mrs. Carl Grunewald
Mrs. Carl Grunewald, 72, of R. 1, Sheboygan, died Tuesday night at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
The former Ella Barts was born on Sept. 20, 1897 in the Town of Herman, a daughter of the late Frank and Lydia Strube Barts. She attended Franklin School.
She was married to Carl Grunewald on July 20, 1918, and since then the couple operated a farm in the Town of Herman.
Mrs. Grunewald was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Herman.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Verona) Perronne of rural Sheboygan, Mrs. Harry (Hildegard) Spindler of West Allis, and Mrs. Wallace (Leona) Heling of Howards Grove-Millersville; four sons, Roman of Franklin, Arvin of rural Kiel, Hubert of rural Manitowoc and Carl Jr. of Howards Grove-Millersville, 35 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Other survivors are three brothers, Arnold of the Town of Herman, Elmer of Chetek and Frank of Jackson, and six sisters, Mrs. Martin Grunewald of Ada, Mrs. Walter Hansman of Kiel, Mrs. Elmer Boeldt of Sheboygan, Mrs. Rudolph Weinhold of Random Lake, Mrs. Stanley Boss of Newton, and Mrs. Alfred Rahn of the Town of Sheboygan.
One brother preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Herman, Rev. John F. Potratz, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Walter H. Ahrens Funeral Home, Howards Grove-Millersville, from 4 p.m. Thursday until 11 a.m. Friday and at the church from noon until the hour of services.
A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Grunewald's name.
