Bobby Dean Clark Hodges passed over into the arms of her Savior on December 27, 2011, after fighting the good fight and keeping the faith. Even though she battled Alzheimer Disease, she kept her beautiful smile, her graciousness, laugh and optimism.

Bobby was born to Ernie and Love Clark on July 18, 1923 in San Antonio, Texas. They moved to Corpus Christi when she was three. Bobby attended Menger Elementary, Wynn Seale Junior High, graduated from Corpus Christi High School at 16, attended Del Mar Junior College, and graduated from Columbia University in New York. She supported herself in a modeling career before returning to Corpus Christi.

Bobby worked as an executive secretary until she devoted herself to her family. She was a beautiful wife to her husband George for 51 years, helping him in many ways as a major retailer. The J. C. Penney Company took Bobby and George to San Juan, Puerto Rico for 6 years and Houston for 6 years before returning once again to Corpus Christi. Bobby particularly enjoyed being a Texan and proud of her pronounced accent! She supported all the Texas teams, but particularly the Cowboys and Astros!

Bobby was a loving, kind and supportive mother to her children Ben, Becky and Robert, and children-in-law Wendy, Jerry and Cheryl. She was a wonderful grandmother to Amy, Emily, Brina, Cody and Zachary, and great grandmother to Carly, Ike, Simone, Noelle, and Solomon. Bobby is also survived by her older sister Evelyn and brother-in-law Johnny Stewart, sister and brother-in-law Peggy and Roye Blackmon, and many nieces and nephews.

Bobby loved God and her church, her family and people. She had a quick wit and a fun-loving spirit. She golfed, love singing in choir, dancing with George, was a competitive bridge player and truly enjoyed life and shared her joy unselfishly with others. Bobby was a marvelous cook and the consummate entertainer - her parties were always fun! She had a beautiful sense of style, and dressed and decorated everything with class and pizzazz! Bobby gave of herself in church circles, the Salvation Army in Puerto Rico, the Rx Assistance Program at First Methodist Church, and Crisis Services Hotline.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful team at Lighthouse Hospice and her devoted caregivers, Alice, Olga, Elida, Sara, Margaret, Janis and Esther.

Bobby's life will be celebrated on December 31, 2011 at 10:00am at First United Methodist Church in Corpus Christi. Any remembrances can be made to First United Methodist Church or the Salvation Army.

Her father was Ernest Conway Clark (who was born Ernest Conrad Souders)
