Mr. William Gustaver "Gus" Cayton - a native of Georgetown, AL and a longtime resident of Mobile, AL died Thursday, December 29, 2011 in a local hospital. Mr. Cayton was a 1967 graduate of Spring Hill College and a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after 35 years of service. Mr. Cayton was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dr. Mark Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Reba Cayton; two daughters, Patricia (Ernie) Gentry and Jackie Reynolds; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 from Christ United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. on Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
