-- Dorothy Westbrook Smith, age 84, died at home on July 23, 2001. She was born January 17, 1917 to Gussie Roper and Sam Westbrook in Bostwick, Georgia. She graduated from Madison, Georgia High School and attended Brenau College. She taught school in the Oconee County School System for five years. In 1942, she married William Findley Smith by whom she is survived. She is also survived by a daughter, Carol Smith Walker and her husband, Jack; a grandson, David Findley Walker; and a granddaughter, Aynsley Westbrook Walker, all of Durham, North Carolina.

Dorothy was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and its Tuesday Bible Study Class and the Terrace Garden Club.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church on Thursday, July 26, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. Private interment will be in Sharon Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the church after the memorial service and at other times in the home. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Hankins and Whittington, Dilworth Chapel is serving the family of Mrs. Smith.
