Son of Charles Authur Parrish and Nellie Samantha Wallace. Born and lived in Paris all his life. Married with two daughters.



Richard Charles Parrish, 76, of Paris, died on Friday, May 20, 2005, at 10:00 p.m. at Canterbury Villa of Alliance.
Born in Paris, Ohio on December 11, 1928, Mr. Parrish lived in the Paris area all of his life, and was a member of the Freeburg Church of the Brethren.

Richard retired as vice president from the Jarman Printing Company in Alliance and was formerly employed at the Lyle Printing Company of Salem.

Mr. Parrish had thirty years of service with the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department with thirteen of those years as Chief.

He was a charter member and past president of the Washington Ruritan Club where he had forty five years perfect attendance, and was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

Richard's favorite pastimes were woodworking, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan (Simcox) Parrish, whom he married on August 8, 1948; two daughters, Lynn (Charles) Gase of Sidney, OH, and Tina (Gary) Ickes of Alliance; four grandchildren, Richard, Maria, Mark and Theresa Gase; two sisters, Ida Mae Hawkins of Canton, and Joyce Jones of Ft. Worth, TX; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, C. Arthur and Nellie (Wallace) Parrish.

The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Mike Zellers officiating. Internment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
