Born November 27, 1912, in Walhalla, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Mamie Orr. She was a long time member of Wrenn Memorial Baptist Church and Gold Star Mothers. She spent many years in Greenville and Central Florida and was a former employee of Stone Manufacturing Company.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Jackie Woodall Carter, and husband, Michael, of Clearwater, Fla.; grandsons, Scott Carter of Birmingham, AL and Thad Carter and wife Jennifer of Clearwater, Fla.; and great-grandchildren, Caylin and Blake Carter.
She was preceded in death by her son, Capt. Jerry Woodall, USMC; brothers, James and Henry Orr; and sister, Pearl Wunder.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2011, from 4:30 pm until 6:00 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 8, 2011, at 12 Noon in the Downtown Chapel. Burial to follow the service in Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wrenn Memorial Baptist Church, 19 Sidney St., Greenville, SC 29609-3650 or to a local hospice.
