Americus Farmer Died in His Truck

Harry C. Anderson, 76, an Americus farmer, was found dead in a truck at his home Saturday night. Coroner O. D. Harris, who made an investigation with Sheriff C. V. Carle, said the man died after a heart attack, believed to have occurred around noon Saturday.

Officers said the man was found by Enock Sowers and Charles Finney neighbors. The truck had been backed from a garage and had stopped against a nearby fence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, in the Americus United Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. Ivan G. Smith of Emporia. Burial will be in the Americus Cemetery. The casket will be open until time for the service at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel in Emporia.

Born Dec. 2nd, 1882 in Americus, Mr. Anderson was the son of Thomas and Millie McCaw Anderson. Hazel E. Finney, whom he married June 25th, 1919, died Dec. 1st, 1945. Surviving are five sons, H. Wayne, of Sterling, Donald F., of Americus, Wendell S., of St. John, Ross K., of Lewisburg, Ohio, and Elwin L., who is serving with the United States Army stationed at Colorado Springs; a brother, Harvey R. Anderson, Spokane, Wash.; six granddaughters and nine grandsons; and two nephews and a niece who were reared in his home, Carl A. Campbell and Mrs. O. O. Gibson of Topeka, and Harold Campbell of Omaha, Neb. He was preceded in death by one son Leonard. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church.
