Kathleen was born on February 22, 1923, in Toquerville, Utah, to loving parents, Walter Herbert and Lola Pearl Button Anderson. She was raised in Salt Lake City along with her four brothers, Blaine, Ralph (deceased), Robert and Jim. She graduated a South High Cub in 1940.
On June 5, 1942, Kathleen and Russell were married in the Logan LDS Temple, after which devoting her love, time and energy to raising their family of four children. Kathleen loved being a homemaker. She excelled at filling the house with the delectable aromas of her mouthwatering baking and joyful sounds of music from the piano on which she could play any song by ear.
Kathleen equally enjoyed contributing to her community. She served as a Cub Scout den mother, a Glendale area election registrar, and was especially proud of the thirty years she spent teaching children in Primary. In her later years she moved to Payson, Utah, where she volunteered her time at Mountain View Hospital and, always an animal lover, adopted cats and kittens who were in need of a good home.
She is survived by her four children, 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, her brothers Blaine, Robert and Jim, sisters-in-law Lois Anderson, Jena Burt and Ruth Burt Gale, numerous nieces, nephews and friends, and three
cats.
Kathleen's life will be celebrated with a memorial service on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah. Family and friends may call one hour before services. She will be interred beside her husband at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road immediately following the service.
