The month and day of his death are uncertain. The "History of Bradford County, Pennsylvania" by Rev. David Craft in 1878 indicates - "The first death of an adult was that of Peabody Keyes, who, soon after moving to the village of Wells, slipped on the ice, and dislocated his neck, Dec. 25, 1813." Peabody Keyes and Persis Brooks were the parents of William Keyes and it was more likely William who died in 1813 versus his father Peabody. "A History Doggett-Daggett Family" by Samuel Beadlee Doggett, 1894, indicates William died in June 1813.
