Lydia (Barnes) Potter - 1757-1836, wife of Lemuel/Leumel (mother of Joel)

DAR marker at head of stone -
In 1911 General Richardson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution placed a marker on Lydia Barnes Potter 's grave site, honoring her as a patriot of the war for her long and diligent work cutting and sewing (also spinning and weaving the wool) for soldiers's garments.

notes on Ancestry:
A veteran of the Revolutionary war. He enlisted at Farmington, Hartford County, CT in 1777. His officers were Capt. Wyllys and Col. Robert Warner. He was in the engagement known as "The Storming of Stony Point".
Lemuel was granted a soldiers pension. Lydia assumed it after Lemuel's death. The living children assumed it after Lydia's death.(W17478)
Living children noted in pension document, Daniel, who Lemuel and Lydia were living with in their old age, and Nabby Tower, Permelia Baldwin, Marilla Hemingway, Roxanna Davis (all the others had died)
