Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late George David and Carrie Corrine Smith Couch. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy was formerly employed with Greenville Memorial Gardens and Robinson Memorial Gardens, and was a member of the Mountain Springs Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his wife of 57 years, he is survived by sons, Ronald David Couch, Jr., Terry Michael Couch, both of Pelzer, and Jason Brian Couch, of Greenville; sisters, Frances Byers, of Greensboro, NC, Edna Queen, of Piedmont, Sue Floyd, of Greer, Jane Queen, of Simpsonville, and Faye Phillips, of Greenville; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Edgar Smith "Tobe" Couch and Jolly Ray Couch.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011, at Guthrie Grove Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith Cemetery. The family is at the residence.
