Vina Jane Howell was the daughter of Hannah (MNU) Howell and Thomas Gabriel Howell. She married James J Taylor Feb 8 1852 and bore three children, Sarah Elizabeth and twins Mary Annis and James M Taylor. Her husband 4th Sgt James J Taylor of the 21st Georgia Inf Co "K" was killed on the battlefield at Drewry's Bluff on May 16 1864. After the war she married Francis Marion Fuller, also of Chattooga County, and they moved to Smith County, Texas. Vina had three children by this marriage, John (Toby), Emma Alice, and Virginia Lela Fuller. Vina Jane and Frank Fuller were divorced in 1893 and she relocated to Waco, where she was reunited with her oldest daughter Lizzie. It was Lizzie's husband, J.R. Hailey who made her funeral and burial arrangements in the First Street Cemetery.
Vina was very tall. It has been said that she was 100% Cherokee but this has never been investigated.
Her daughters, Mary Annis Taylor Hall and Emma Alice Fuller Smith preceded her in death.
Children: James M Taylor, Mary Annis "Mollie" Taylor Hall, Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" Taylor Hailey
