Mr. Vick died Friday, December 23, 2011.
Born in Selma, Alabama, he was a son of the late Major Phares Guinn Vick, US Army (Ret.) and Melba Riley Vick.
He earned his Associates Degree in Business from Midlands Technical College and retired from UPS with 34 years of service.
He was a decorated US Army Airborne Infantry veteran, served two tours in Vietnam, received the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Bronze Star.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer.
Surviving are his son, Shaun Vick of Columbia; sisters, Phyllis Ferguson (Dr. Robert Ferguson) of Charlotte, NC and Patricia Shinn of Montgomery, AL; nieces and nephews, Katherine Slagel, Patricia Buckner, Conrad Shinn, Susan Shinn, and Sidney Shinn. He was predeceased by a brother, Edmond Riley Vick.
