Hannah (Astwood) Freeman Porter was the only child of Capt. John Astwood (sometimes spelled "Atwood"), and Sarah (Bryan), Widow of Sylvester Baldwin, Jr. Sylvester Baldwin, Jr. had died at sea in 1638, enroute to Dorchester, MA. The Widow Baldwin, and her children, and Sylvester's 1st cousin John Baldwin, Jr. & his family, moved on to Milford, New Haven Colony, where there were addition Baldwin cousins, not long after, having arrived by 1640.Sarah (Bryan) Baldwin, by her marriage to Widower Capt. John Astwood, became one of the richest women in Milford.In addition to Hannah's 2nd marriage to Robert Porter, she may have married a 3rd time, to a John Clark (d. 1690)
