Mrs. Anna May Barkley, age 84, of Canton, Mo. died Sunday, December 30, 2007 in Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Il.

She was born May 30, 1923 near Canton, Mo., the daughter of James Hudson and Mary Ellen Little Durkee. She was married to Kenneth Barkley May 17, 1942 at the Canton Christian Church in Canton. He preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker, wife, and mother. She loved her home and family, and enjoyed nature. She was a member of the Canton Christian Church in Canton, graduated from Canton High School and attended Culver-Stockton College in Canton. She was a Chi Omega sorority member, and belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by 2 sons, James (Brenda) Barkley of Canton, Mo, and Ken (Peggy) Barkley of Wentzville, Mo; 2 daughters Mary Anna (George) Rogers of Moberly, Mo, and Jean St. Clair of Wentzville, Mo; 6 grandsons Pence Rogers of Moberly, Mo,
Joe (Sara) St. Clair of Wentzville, Mo, Clay (Tracy) St. Clair of Columbia, Il, Eric (Nicole) Barkley and Jay Barkley of Canton, Mo, and Jacob Barkley of Wentzville, Mo; 1 granddaughter Sara Barkley of Wentzville, Mo; 3 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother Joe Durkee, and 1 son-in-law Dan St. Clair.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, Mo. with Rev. Paul Rathbun officiating. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery at Canton. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 2, 2008 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton.

Memorials are suggested to Canton Christian Church or the Canton Fire Department, of Canton, Mo.
