She was the daughter of Adalbert Hettich and emigrated to USA from Germany in March 1888. She married Ferdinand M. Storz and had three children. Her father predeceased her in 1908. Sadly, Emma died at age 30 of tuberculosis which she may have contracted initially from the ship. Her sister Marie then died in 1911. All three are buried here in unmarked gravesite.

The surname Hettiich is often spelled as it sounds "Hettick."
