Was a retail clerk at JC Penny's in Tiffin, OH for a brief period in the mid 1940's, and then remaining a homemaker until about 1956 when upon she became employed at McCrory's in St Petersburg, FL as office manager. In reasonably short order she was promoted to store manager, and taking assignments from south Georgia to south Florida. During periods of vactions and later upon retirement in 1979 she traveled a great deal in visiting family. She was also very adept at needlework of all sorts, and enjoyed doing puzzles of all sorts as well.

BRITNER, EDNA M., 87, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday (March 17, 2002) at Grace Health Care.She came here in 1949 from her native Tiffin, Ohio. She was a former manager for McCrory's Stores. She was a member of Lealman United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Survivors include four sons, Ronald, Mayo, David, St. Petersburg, Larry, Leesburg, and Jerry, Oklahoma City; three daughters, Necia Buchanan, Quincy, Doris Rogers, Morganfield, Ky., and Sandra Hall, Mayo; a sister, Mary Neisler, Tiffin; 24 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Osgood-Cloud Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Pinellas Park.
