She was an active member of the Grandview Baptist Church until retirement when she, with her husband, moved to the Elk Creek community. Her membership was transferred to the Elk Creek Baptist Church.
Her husband preceded her in death on May 24, 1957. She is survived by one son, Virgil Rees, Cabool; six daughters, Mrs. Ethel Fulk, Houston, Mrs. Ada Fulk, Mrs. Myrtle Byrd, Elk Creek, Mrs. Bertha Hobbs, Rush Hill, Mrs. Ruth Lay, Columbia, Mrs. Ruby Swisher, Cabool; 20 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted May 5 at the Ozark Baptist Church by the Rev. Arch Bolerjack. Her grandsons serviced as pallbearers. Burial was in Ozark Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry of Cabool.
