Fred Patterson, prominent retired farmer, died at his home eight and one-half miles east of Wellington at 11:20 pm Saturday, January 28. He was 84 years of age. Although he had been in ill health, his death was unexpected.
Mr. Patterson was born March 22, 1893, in Batesville, AR the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Doc Patterson. He was married to Miss Lucy Greenfield October 15, 1916, at Batesville, and they came to Collingsworth County in 1923 and settled in the Kelley community, where Mr. Patterson continued to live. He was a member of the Wellington Nazarene Church.
Surviving Mr. Patterson are one daughter, Mrs Elvis (Betty) White of Clarendon; two sons, Fred Lee Patterson and Harry Lowell Patterson of Wellington. There are four grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death June 8, 1970.
