A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley for Ida "Miss Ida" Guidry Borne, 69, who died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at 7:15 p.m. in Crowley after a lengthy illness.

"Miss" Ida was a native and lifelong resident of Crowley. She enjoyed dancing and playing cards with her friends along with the casino trips with her daughters.

She retired as manager of Hilton's Finance and had worked many years for Credeur Credit Corp.

Fr. Gary Schexnayder, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, officiated for the services.

The family requested visiting hours Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

A rosary was recited Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

She is survived by two daughters, Dena B. Richard of Crowley, Melissa B. Dugas and her husband, Steven, of Scott; five grandchildren, Kelsey, Katelyn and Kameryn Richard, Jaimee and Jessica Dugas; her mother, Eunice T. Guidry of Crowley; three sisters, Janet Cuccio of Crowley, Mona Guidry of Crowley, Faye Sloane of Florida; one brother, Bobby Guidry of Crowley; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Steven Dugas, Bobby Guidry, Ramsey Guidry, Chris Myers, Chris Cuccio and Larry Primeaux.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jimmy" Borne; her father, August Guidry; and her niece, Heather Nicole Guidry.

The family requested memorial donations in her memory to Southern Care Hospice, Inc., 109 Abigayle's Row, Scott, LA 70583.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Southern Care Hospice for their care and support in their time of need.
