Raymond R. Sheaffer, 92, of William Penn Nursing Center, Lewistown, formerly of Valley View Avenue, Lewistown, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, August 3l, 1996, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born July 1, 1904, in Juniata County, he was a son of the late Adam H. and Jennie [Britcherl Sheaffer.
His wife, Edna [Clouser] Sheaffer, died in 1992.
Surviving are: a son, Robert C. Sheaffer, Winchester, VA; a sister, Margaret Prye, William Penn Nursing Center, Lewistown; two granddaughters; four step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, David A. Sheaffer, in 1969, a grandson, John B. Sheaffer, in 1991, two brothers and two sisters.
He was employed at American Viscose Corp., Lewistown, as an engineer, with 41 years of service, retiring in 1969.
He was a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church, Lewistown, and was a charter member of East Derry Fire Co.
Services were held Tuesday, September 3 at Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., Lewistown, with Rev. Dale Hippensteel officiating. Interment was in Mount Rock Cemetery, Lewistown.
