William “Bill” Edward Noland, Sr., 71 of Fifth Street, Marietta, died at 7:30 P. Wednesday (Aug. 6, 2003 at the Marietta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Feb. 25, 1932 in Marietta to Lawrence and Margaret Coughenour Noland. He had attended Cutler grade school and Bartlett High School. He had been employed at the American Bisque Co. and later at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He had also been associated with Vanguard Paint Co. for 26 years.
Noland enjoyed dancing and being with his grandchildren. He was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 458. He had been active in the Salvation Army for many years.
On Oct. 18, 1958, he married Roberta Johnson. She died on March 26, 1989. Also preceding him in death were his parents.
Services are at 2 p. Saturday at McClure-Shafer-Lankford Funeral Home in Marietta with the Rev. Joe Johnson, his nephew, officiating. Burial is in Mount Liberty Cemetery.
