William Edward "Eddie" Noland Jr., 44, of Marietta, died from injuries after a fall from a bridge near Beckley, Raleigh Co., W.Va. His body was discovered on Sept. 26, 2008.

He was born on Oct. 14, 1963, in Marietta, the son of the late William and Roberta (Johnson) Noland. Eddie grew up in Marietta and attended Marietta City Schools. He was a compassionate, loving person, who loved his family and helped take care of his nephews and nieces when they were young. He was always willing to help others and was always there when someone needed him.

He is survived by two sisters, Debra Nitsche of Bensalem, Pa., and Sheryl Noland of Marietta; his nephews and nieces, Jason Murphy, Amanda Parden, Andrea Barth, Chelsea and Devin Nitsche; one great-nephew, Mason Wagner; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Herman and Myra (Farnsworth) Johnson and Lawrence and Margaret (Coughenour) Noland.

Following cremation, a "Celebration of Life" memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 22) at American Legion Post 64, Eighth and Wooster streets in Marietta. Eddie's cousin, Pastor Joseph Johnson, will be officiating.
