Residence was Joliet, Illinois; enlisted August 7 and mustered-in as Private, Company H, 100th Illinois Infantry, August 30, 1862. He was promoted corporal during his service. Corporal King mustered-out at Nashville, Tennessee, June 12, 1865.

Henry C. King, age 67 years, was enumerated April 26, 1910, at Farmington, San Juan County, New Mexico, with Elizabeth J. King 53, Elmer King 20, Elizabeth King 14, Vergie King 8. The enumeration shows that Henry and Elizabeth had been married for 40 years, that Elizabeth was the mother of 11 children, 10 of whom were then living, and that Henry was a survivor of the Union Army.
