JOHN HUNTER, of the North of England, b. 1666; upon the accession of James II. of England to the throne, moved to the County of Wicklow, Ireland, and settled at the town of Rothdrum; became an extensive grazier, joined the Protestant Army, under William and Mary, and fought in the Battle of the Boyne, beside his friend Anthony Wayne, the grandfather of General Anthony Wayne of the Continental Army; he and Wayne emigrated to America in 1722, and settled at Easttown Township, Chester (now Delaware) Co., Pa. John Hunter and Anthony Wayne were Vestrymen in 1725 of Radnor Church; m. prior to emigrating to America, Margaret ALBIN, of French extraction.
