Edward Brown who died Saturday at his residence. Ed was born November 18, 1930 in Canfield the son of Douglas J. and Ina L. (Esterly) Brown and was a lifelong area resident.
Ed was an active member of Canfield Christian Church where he had served as a Deacon and former Sunday School Superintendent. He was a Charter member of the Beaver Creek Horseman's Association and maintained trails at Beaver State Park. Ed was a 4H advisor for 32 years for the second oldest horse club in Mahoning County "The Canfield Rhythm Riders.
Ed enjoyed camping, horseback riding and after his retirement from A.P.O'Horo company, where he had been a carpenter for many years he traveled through the western states. Ed served his country in the Navy during the Korean War and was a Life member of the VFW Post 9571 of Ellsworth.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Geraldine "Gerri" (Cutting) Brown whom he married September 21, 1952, children; Lynne (Guy) Fredo of Salem, Thomas (Laura) Brown of Youngstown, Steven (Theresa) Brown of Canfield, five grandchildren and one great grandchild. He will also be missed by his sisters Margaret Hedrick and Lenora Carpenter both in Idaho. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, son Dale, brothers, Richard and Robert Brown.
