Muriel Kathleen Barnett

Muriel Kathleen Barnett, 91, of Campbell, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at her Residence. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Campbell at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Danny Buster and Rev. Cary Kinnaird officiating. Burial will follow at Brigham Cemetery.

Kathleen was born on July 3, 1920 in Cash, Texas to David A. and Ruth Hubbard Spears. She attended elementary school in Pleasant Grove and Cash, Texas and later attended and graduated from Greenville High School. She married William (Bill) Barnett on March 20, 1959 in Campbell.

Employed by Huff Construction Company, they were the general contractor who built Majors Field, after the construction was completed, she went to work with the Texas Employment Commission and later was appointed to the position of the Greenville City Clerk serving in that office until her retirement in 1967.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Campbell.

Survivors include her husband of Campbell; sister, Dorothy Abbott of Denver, CO; dear friends, Karla and Ray Burke and Lisa & Barry Buchanan all of Campbell; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Billy Spears and sister, Betty Montgomery.
