Funeral services were held Sunday, December 11, 2011
Burial followed in the Sawyer Baptist Church cemetery
Virginia "Jimbo" Vanover, age 73 of Parkers Lake, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2011, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.
Funeral services were Sunday at 2pm at the Sawyer Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Ridener officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery.
Jimbo was born at Parkers Lake on June 14, 1938 to the late Albert and Carrie Vanover Swain. She was a retired cook for the McCreary County School System and of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, preceding her in death are four brothers, Leslie, Elvis, Edward and McArthur Swain, a sister, Ivory Pearl Swain and brother and sisters-in- law, Cecil Ridener, Mary Swain and Flossie Swain.
Jimbo is survived by her husband James Herb Vanover of Parkers Lake, two brothers, Allen Swain of Sydney, Ohio and Jody Swain and his wife Rhonda of Parkers Lake. 4 sisters, Faye Perkins (and husband Jerry), Wiborg, KY, Fontella Ridner and her husband Herman of Parkers Lake, Diane Ridener of Sawyer, and Joyce Goodin and her husband Howard of Parkers Lake. Sisters-in- law, Connie Swain, Bonne Swain and Roxie Mitchell all of Parkers Lake.

Pine Knot Funeral Home assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
