75, husband of Freida G. Wilder Baker, Lawrenceburg, formerly of Nicholasville, died Fri, Dec 16, at the VA Medical Center on Cooper Drive. He was a native of Arjay, KY, born June 14, 1936, to the late Noah and Ann Mae Baker. Dan was a retired employee of St. Joseph Hospital where he worked in boiler maintenance, and from the US Navy where he was a boiler operator, served in the Korean Conflict era and was a Vietnam veteran. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge #938 in Corbin, KY, loved UK athletics, gardening and horse racing. In addition to his wife of 49 years survivors include his children Leslie Kelly Baker, Chavies, KY, Michael Keith Baker, IL, and Dana Grace Brothers, husband Daniel, Lawrenceburg. Grandchildren Andrew W. Massie, Rachel S. Tanuis, Jessica G. Brothers, and Emma K. Brothers, sister Susan Hampton, husband David, several nieces and nephews, and special family friends Jr. Houp and John Selvy. A service to commemorate his life will be held 12:30pm Tue, Dec 20, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Military Honors. Honoring him as pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends from 10am until time of service. Donations may be made in his memory to the Disabled American Veterans.
