Angeline "Lelia" Kyle passed away Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at Sentara Careplex.
A longtime resident of Hampton, Lelia was hair stylist and the owner operator of Sussex Beauty Salon for 44 years. Lelia and her husband, Morris Kyle, were among the founding families of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Lelia was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Mercedes Llaneza; her husband, Morris B. Kyle; her sisters, Rose Lively (Dale) and Anita Llaneza; her brothers, Tony, Valentino "Lanny", Angel, Albert "Lug", and Paul Llaneza; and her sister-in-law, Mary Llaneza.
Lelia is survived by her sister, Pauline Williams (Jim); four children, Janet K. Wagenfeld (Bob), Janice K. Moore (Lee), Tommy Kyle, Kenny Kyle; her daughter-in-law, Terrie Kyle; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and four sisters-in-law, Maggie, Vicky, Tress, and Grace Llaneza. She is also survived by her dear friend, Helene Phelps.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church by the Rev. Louis Benoit with interment to follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
