Ruth Arnett, age 73, resident of Shiloh passed from this present life into glory with her heavenly Father on Monday, September 29, 2008 in MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital following a short illness.
Born December 13, 1934 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Clifford and Opal (Jordan) Strickland she had been a Shiloh area resident the majority of her life. Never knowing a stranger, she was loved by all who made her acquaintance. She enjoyed playing bingo and was a lover of all animals, especially her faithful companions, Rusty, Jordan and Jake.
Survivors include her three precious sons; Douglas (Kathy) Arnett, Steven (Debbie) Arnett, and Randall (Glenna) Arnett, all of Portsmouth; eight grandchildren, Kristyn, Aaron, Morgan, Andy, Kellie, Amanda, Tiffany, and Jessica seven great grandchildren; her sister and best friend, Judith A. Myers, seven nieces, nephews and their families that were very close to her heart; one brother, Michael (Tammy) Strickland, two nieces, and one nephew.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Timothy Arnett.
Ruth has left behind many friends, neighbors, community members, and church friends who will cherish the joy she brought into their lives. She will be forever missed.
Funeral services will be held 6:00 PM Thursday, October 2, 2008 from the Barkdull Funeral Home, 33 N. Gamble St., Shelby, Ohio. Pastor Matt Bond will officiate with interment in Memorial Burial Park, Wheelersburg, Ohio on Friday, Oct. 3, at 1:00 PM. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 5:00 to 6:00 PM.
