Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept 11, 1998 at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley. The family will receive friends Thursday evening 7-8:30 and Friday morning 9;30-10:00 at the funeral home. Interment Woodville Cemetery.
Drucilla Rose Merritt was born Oct 25, 1916 in Bedford the last of nine children born to Levi Edward Merritt and Elisa Ida Moser. She grew up in Bedford where she attended school.
On Nov 7, 1933 she married John Merle Wheeler in the Logan LDS Temple. She lived in Star Valley and Jackson until moving to Osgood in 1950. She moved with her husband to the Hays Project south of Woodville where they lived until his death Nov 29, 1976. She married Shirley Wilford Rose on May 21, 1977 in Reno. After he retired from farming they moved went to Idaho Falls. She worked in the Idaho Falls Temple and the LDS Hospital laundry for several years.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held positions in the Primary, Sunday School and as a visiting teacher.
Her hobbies included writing poetry, playing the piano, violin and several other musical instruments. She and her husband loved to camp and were members of the Rolling Russet Good Sam's Club.
She always put her family first and was proud of all of their accomplishments. She had a smile, kiss and hug for everyone, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents. son Ralph M Wheeler, two grandchildren, one great granddaughter and six brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband Shirley W. Rose, Idaho Falls; daughters Merlene Leavitt, McCamman, Lorna Wyatt, Shelley, Elaine Hanson, Twin Falls; sons Timothy Wheller, Shelley, Blake Wheeler, Idaho Falls; stepdaughter a nn Baker, Gary OK; stepson Dusty Ross, Phoenix; brother Erwin Merritt Bedford, sister Lena Titensor, Thayne
