The death of Mrs. Anna Meade who was so well known in the Longford and Manchester vicinity, occurred Monday moring, Jan. 31st. The story of her life is written as follows:
Anna Withrow was born near Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio, Aug. 22, 1850.
While living at Hamilton, Ohio, she was united in marriage with Samuel Morrison Meade, July 7, 1870. To this union were born five children, one of whom, Samual Meade, Jr., preceded her in death, Aug. 13, 1890. Her husband, Samuel Morrison Meade, departed this life, May 19, 1893.
In young womanhood, Mrs. Meade united with the Presbyterian Church, to which she remained a faithful member until she came to the end of life's journey at Manchester, Kansas, Monday morning, Jan. 31, 1938, having lived to the age of 87 years one month and 16 days.
She leaves to miss her presence here; her daughter, Mrs. Daisy Monasmith of Lamar, Neb., her sons, Morrison of Longford, Franklin of Manchester, and Reamey of Platteville, Colo.; ten grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Burial was in the Rose Meron Cemetery.
