James Franklin Johnston was the son of George Gegorgy Johnston and Matha W. Burton Johnston. He was the husband of Martha Elizabeth McDaniel Johnston. Their children were William Monroe, Cynthia L, Arena Jane, James Gregory, Sidney Bragg, Lewis Fletcher, Florence Margania, Martha Ellen, James Green, Larkin Slaughter. (Ten Children) HE served in the Confederacy during the Civil War. He was in the battle of Vicksberg.
