Francis W. Wert, 81, 53 S. Pitt St., died Sunday in Swaim Health Center, Newville.
He was born near Carlisle, was a 1917 graduate of Carlisle High School and a 1923 graduate of Carnegie Institute of Technology, Pittsburgh. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I, a former refrigeration engineer with Heilo El Toro Co., spent several years in South America, and was a member of Waynesboro Elks Club 731.
Surviving are a brother, Orville B. Wert, Denville, N.J.; three nephews and a niece.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St. with the Rev. E. Reginald Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Plainfield Church of God Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 1 p.m. until time of services.
