Lola Mae Warren was born June 12, 1934, in Lick Creek, Ark., to Offie Bell and Euil Clifton Luther. She passed away Feb. 2, 2011, at Elk City at the age of 76. Services were held Saturday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. at the Whinery-Savage Chapel officiated by Curtis Morris. Burial was at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service.
Lola Mae moved with her parents as a child to a small farm east of Elk City. She graduated from Elk City High School and worked as a scrub tech at Elk City Community Hospital.She married Lonnie Smith in 1954 till his death in 1957. She married Walker Wilson Warren at Sayre on June 17, 1961. She returned to school and graduated from Southwestern State College with her B.S. and M.S. in education. Lola Mae taught at Fairview Grade School for 29 years until she retired in 1990. She was a member of the Elk City United Methodist Church where she was active at the Thrift Store and the UMW.
She was preceded in death by her parents;Husband Lonnie Smith,and Second Husband Walker Warren ; one son, Randy Smith; one great-grandson, Seth Cordell; one sister, Vera Parham; and and son-in-law, Billy Batchelor.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan Bledsoe and husband, Martin, Elk City, and Barbara Batchelor, Elk City; three grandchildren, Jason Cordell and wife, Misty, Elk City, Patrick Cordell and wife, Krissy, Elk City, and Kaycee Bledsoe, Elk City; six great-grandchildren, Memphis Cordell, Raydon Cordell, Kaystin Carter, Kaidynce Cordell, Ethan Beck, Parker Beck; one sister, Margaret Hepola, Tulsa; two brothers, C.B. Luther, Perryton, Texas, and Gene Luther, Baton Rouge, La.; and several other relatives and friends.
