William Monroe Ashley was born Jan. 1,1855 a son of Warren and Anna Christina (Bickel)Ashley. He married twice,first Sarah Ann Mays on April 27,1878 in Jay Co. William and Sarah had three children. William married second Laura Belle Bragg on Jan. 14,1893. They had at least two children and Laura is said to be buried here in Salamonia cemetery.
