Samuel Joe Lester was born March 1, 1982, at Monett, Mo., the son of Delton James Lester and Peggy Jane (Rowlett) Lester. He passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011, at Gig Harbor, Wash., at the age of 29 years.

He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents Nelson and Alice Rowlett. Samuel is survived by his mother Peggy Lester of Wood River, Ill.; three brothers Axel Lester and wife Nikkie of Bentonville, Ark., Dale Lester of Wood River, Ill., and Derek Lester of Wood River, IL; two nephews Steven Lester and Matthew Lester both of Bentonville, AR; and a host of other family and friends.

He graduated from Liberty High School in Mountain View, Mo., in 2001. After graduation he served in the Navy for five years. Samuel later joined the Army, where he was presently active until his passing. He loved playing video games and spending time with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Graveside services were held Monday, December 12, 2011, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Mountain View, Mo., with Chaplain Daryl Densford officiating under the direction of Duncan Funeral Homes of Mountain View, Mo.
