Of Quincy United Methodist Home and formerly of 125 W. Second St. Waynesboro, PA died at 5 a.m. at home. Born to the late Robert E. and Deanie N. Flohr Gonder. She lived her early life in Wayne Heights and attended Rouzerville School. She was a member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren and Fidelus Sunday School of the church. She enjoyed crocheting and making doll clothing. She and her husband, Francis O. "Hunk" Trostle, were married in May 1926. Her husband died April 3, 1953. Mrs. Trostle moved to the Second Street address in 1993 and entered the nursing home in August 1998. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Krebs, in 1979; a son, F. Dean in 2001; grandsons, Clayton Trostle in 1972 and Ben Carson in 1984; three sisters, Mary Stouffer, Lottie Slorp, Lydia Dean; and three brothers, John Gonder, Earl Gonder and Robert Gonder. Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn A. Carson of Waynesboro; two sons, Charles K. "Pete" of Harrisburg and Donald E. of Spencer, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Fannie Myers and Maude Little, both of Westminster, Md.; two brothers, E. William Gonder and Martin Gonder, both of Taneytown, Md.; nieces; and nephews. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, with the Rev. Prudence B. Yelinek officiating. There will be no viewing. Memorial contributions may be made to Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 117 S. Church St., Waynesboro 17268. Arrangements are by Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro.
