Frederick was born on his father's farm at Two Rivers, Wisconsin; died there at Two Rivers on 27 September 1957, aged 83 [Two Rivers Bur. Rec. 1105; Dicke Genealogy, by Lois Maurer Vogel, p. 196-202, 1980].

He was born and raised at Two Rivers. He was enumerated there with his parents in the 1880 US Census.

He graduated from high school in 1890 and his first job was as a teacher at Silver Lake, Wisconsin, moving on to Centerville, Manitowoc Co., Wisconsin the next year. He started law school in 1893 and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School in Madison in June 1896.

Fred was enumerated with his mother at Two Rivers in the 1900 US Census.

Fred married Ella M. LAHEY at Two Rivers, Wisconsin on 9 October 1912.

Fred and Ella resided in Two Rivers where F.W. was lawyer and City Attorney on Schroeder Block [1920 Manitowoc Co. Dir., p. 373]. Fred and Ella were enumerated there with their son Frederick in the 1920 US Census.

Fred, wife Ella, and children Frederick, Ruth, and Ellen were enumerated at Two Rivers in the 1930 US Census.

Frederick served as the Two Rivers City Attorney for 57 years [Dicke Genealogy].

He served as the attorney who settled the estate of Augusta GRUMMAN, from December 1931 to May 1932, at Two Rivers, Manitowoc Co., Wisconsin [M.C. Probate Rec. 7376].

Fred and Ella were enumerated at Two Rivers in the 1940 US Census.

Gets License to Wed Miss Ella Lahey of that city

Cupid has scored another victory in the capture of Fred W. Dicke, city attorney of Two Rivers, for the ranks of the benedicts, announcements being made of the approaching marriage of Mr. Dicke and Miss Ella Lahey of Bellingham, Wash., a former Two Rivers girl. A license for the marriage has been granted. Mr. Dicke is one of the prominent members of the Bachelor's Club of Two Rivers and is one of the best known attorneys of the county. He was elected city attorney at Two Rivers a year ago and has been a leading spirit in affairs of the city for years. His bride to be, Miss Lahey is a trained nurse and has been a resident of Bellingham, Wash., for some time past. The wedding will be celebrated at Two Rivers where Miss Lahey is visiting.
